Each November, Mérida bursts into celebration with the Feria Yucatán in Xmatkuil, the region’s largest and most beloved cultural event.

 

What began in 1974 as a small agricultural exhibition has evolved into a three week long festival that celebrates the heart and soul of Yucatecan culture.

 

Visitors can wander through pavilions filled with local artisans, sample regional foods, enjoy concerts from national and international artists, and experience traditional livestock shows, rodeos, and amusement rides.

Beyond the fun and festivities, Feria Xmatkuil also honors Yucatán’s roots by showcasing its agricultural heritage, artistic talent, and strong sense of community.
