Ik’il t’aan (Maya Poetry) Videomapping

Looking for something a little different from the usual Mérida evening? Head west of the historic center to Parque de La Paz for Ik’il t’aan (Maya Poetry), a new videomapping experience celebrating the diversity, richness and cultural heritage of Yucatán’s Indigenous languages.

The projection is presented on the façade of the former penitentiary building, creating a colorful nighttime experience centered on Maya language and poetry.

Because Parque de La Paz sits just outside Mérida’s main tourist zone, this is a chance to explore a different part of the city and experience an evening that feels a little more local. The park is also home to a few marquesita vendors, so grab one of Yucatán’s favorite street-food treats and enjoy it while you watch the show.
