Biciruta Nocturna: Experience Mérida by Bike After Dark
Looking for one of the best things to do in Mérida at night? Biciruta Nocturna is one of the city's most beloved community events, giving locals and visitors the chance to cycle through Mérida's historic Paseo de Montejo after dark. On the first Saturday night of each month, traffic gives way to bicycles, families, couples, walkers, and rollerbladers as the city comes alive with music, laughter, and a festive atmosphere.
The route follows the iconic Paseo de Montejo, where Mérida's grand mansions built during the henequén boom are beautifully illuminated after sunset. As you ride beneath the trees, you'll discover why this avenue is one of the city's most photographed landmarks. Along the way, you'll often encounter street performers, musicians, artists, and pop-up activities that invite you to stop, take photos, and enjoy the evening at your own pace.
